synIRC(d) is a feature-less, private, and anonymous IRC server. It does the bare minimum, and does not include features that could be harmful to privacy, or that are unnecessary. The main differences you can expect from this network are:

  1. Tor and I2P only.
  2. No logs of any type are retained.
  3. No network channel list, or WHOIS channel list.
  4. No services like, NickServ, ChanServ, ETC.
  5. No nickname registration, or authentication is required.
  6. No connected users or user count listed.
  7. No WHOWAS.
  8. No CTCP.
  9. Unique vHosts are not assigned.
  10. NAMES command only returns user list if you are in the specified channels.
  11. Anarchy.

The goal is to create a network where privacy and anonymity are an expectation, and censorship, tracking, or other forms of user discrimination are impossible. It is primarily encouraged to use hidden services to connect to the network. Anonymous server linking is planned to be added in the future. There is currently one server that supports Tor/I2P:
